The Athens is the modern capital of Greece, but also one of the most important mythological sites of antiquity. According to tradition, the city was named after the goddess Athena, which won Poseidon in a competition offering the inhabitants the olive tree – symbol of wisdom and prosperity. Athens was considered a centre of knowledge, strategy and culture.

The Acropolis and the Parthenon dedicated themselves to the goddess, while the city is associated with heroes such as Theseus, who defeated the Minotaur. Athens symbolizes wisdom, democracy and divine protection.
